Dr. Lorie has facilitated the development of several outpatient palliative care programs in multiple states. She has developed both Bereavement and Loss courses and Death Café experiences and is an End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium trainer.
She is a nurse practitioner consultant, providing support for a local hospice and palliative care group which includes training advance practice registered nurses, and the palliative care team.
Death Cafe'
Dr. Lorie has facilitated numerous Death Cafe' experiences. She was awarded the Innovation in Teaching Award at Marian University for hosting several Death Cafe's during the Bereavement & Loss Class for undergraduate nursing students.
